The FUR’s New Single ‘The Light’ Delivers Important Mental Health Message Backed by a Nordic-Pop Beat and Ariana-Style Vocals

Swedish artist, songwriter, and producer The FUR has recently released ‘The Light’, representing his seventh foray into the single-releasing game. In fact, this new song was released exactly a year after his first release on 18th June 2021; a single called ‘Americana’. And to be honest, he never disappoints! This track delivers an optimistic, positive mindset message, aiming to bring joy to everyone who listens.

What makes this message all the more important is the fact that he wrote this song originally for his friend who was struggling with panic anxiety, and The FUR’s lyrics portray his feelings about his friend’s mental and emotional issues, offering a helping hand and support with some wise words.

“I originally wrote it for a friend who was struggling with panic disorder, and who I think had driven himself away from his own identity. In the long run, it gives you a lot of anxiety not to be yourself. So, the song is an attempt to say that you should see your own truth and not run away from your true self”, The FUR explains.

When it comes to collaborations, this talented Swedish artist never misses the target. This time around, he’s chosen LA-based Korean American singer Ashley Alisha to provide the vocals in this track, and similarly, she didn’t miss the target either. Her Ariana Grande-esque singing style perfectly suits the happy chord sequences and upbeat sound effects that The FUR has intricately created within this dance-pop paradise of a tune.

The main line of the song comes in the chorus: ‘You have the light in you, you have the light, you’ll be alright, hold on to it tonight’. This is an important message that The FUR is getting across here, not only for his friend but also for all listeners who may also be struggling at the minute. Mental health is finally becoming a topic that people feel more comfortable talking about and realising how important it is to do this. So it’s amazingly promising that more and more artists are releasing music on this topic.
