Black Loops: Quick Fire Interview

Black Loops: Quick Fire Interview

Riccardo Paffetti aka Black Loops has established himself as one of House music’s most creative and innovative producers. Black Loops momentum has been building for a few years now, culminating in Traxsource recognising him as the number one Deep House Artist in 2017. This recognition has been further solidified with the release of his latest single High Cutz earlier this year – a groove-laden, deep house sound with a nod to Chicago-inspired disco-house jams.

Ahead of his forthcoming set at District & Yard in the Baltic Triangle, we caught up with Riccardo to throw some quick-fire questions at him and gain an insight into how his mind-box puts the world in order.

You’re playing Yard/District in Liverpool: Tell us three things that come to mind when you think of Liverpool?

The Beatles, The Coral, The Zutons.

As a nod to our collective inner pretentiousness, what record would you leave on your coffee table if you wanted to impress someone?

Lucio Battisti – Amarsi un pò.

Song you’d like played at your funeral?

Robert hood – Never Grow Old

Also, for my funeral (which will never happen because I’m immortal) I would love my friends and family to rave hard…

Everyone has a good app idea. What’s yours?

An app that teach you how to speak Italian only with hands gesture

Urban Island Disks – You’re about to be stranded on our island. What three records do you take with you to keep you sane and entertained?

Metro area – Metro area
Anderson park – Malibù

If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Is the glass half full or half empty?

Whom do you secretly admire?

Elon musk

What song do you sing only when you’re alone and what memory does it bring back?

Fugees – Oh la la la . First tape I ever bought 22 years ago so many memories.

What’s the one thing you’re certain of?

Immortality

If you could steal credit for any great piece of art, song, film, book etc. which one would you claim?

The movie “HIGH FIDELITY” (with John Cusack)

What would be the title for your autobiography?

Life of Riccardino

You’re the new universal, singular ruler of the whole world – what three laws do you immediately pass?

I would cancel every existing law, open all borders and would let everyone live how they want (unless they are criminals and killers and politicians obviously LoL)

If you weren’t a DJ what job would you be doing?

Barista

Black Loops will be performing at District & Yard 22nd September. There will be a warm up party hosted by the venue. Tickets still available here.
