This week’s track of the week comes from Irish punk poet Sinead O’Brien with Strangers In Danger – taken from debut EP Drowning In Blessings – out this September on Chess Club Records.
Again teaming up with ace Speedy Wunderground producer Dan Carey – who once again works magic with the fantastic krautrock/post-punk arrangements that sit below O’Brien’s twisting, idiosyncratic vocals.
Strangers In Danger is an impeccable piece of work from O’Brien – a visionary poet at the top of her game. No chorus, no traditional structure, yet hugely fascinating, in a way only O’Brien can be.
Drowning In Blessings is out on Chess Club Records September 16 and Sinead O’Brien is touring the UK in Spring 2021.
