Torture and the Desert Spiders (a Liverpool-based garage post-punk outfit) release hard-hitting single, “Sinéad, I’m Afraid” which comes with acoustic B-side, “New Brighton” on April 18th.

“I’m a sucker for an interesting voice and Anna Kunz, also known as Torture, will stop you in your tracks with her rich, rough vocals. Reminiscent of Cat Power or early PJ Harvey, they have a raw power and intensity that’ll have you pumping your fist in the air or crying your eyes out. Probably both.” Get In Her Ears

Torture and the Desert Spiders are a left-field garage project fronted by New Jersey songwriter, Anna Kunz. Now joined by Scouse bassist, Clara Cicely and Welsh drummer, Maxime Meunier- they are making big headway on the international scene as a unit. Completely independent and having just returned from a busy Fall / Winter touring season in the UK and East Coast (USA), they are pleased to be grounded for the moment while recording their upcoming EP in Liverpool, UK.

Recently they’ve been spun on KEXP’s Sonic Reducer and shared the stage with bands such as The Lounge Society, Enola Gaye, ARXX, Pillow Queens, Cassels, and Gaye Bykers On Acid as well as played Sound City and Smithdown Road Festival.
Upcoming dates include supporting the international sensation, Crawlers, as well as playing Beyond the Wall Festival, All Roads Lead to The Future (She Drew the Gun), Sound City Festival (Tim Peaks) and many others.
