About Tom: 

My name is Tom Block. I’m a creative media professional, filmmaker and music producer currently based in Berlin.

Within film and television production, I have worked for several broadcasters and media companies such as the BBC in London, the Red Bull Media House in Salzburg, A+E Networks Germany, NBC Universal Germany and the ProSiebenSat1 Media SE in Munich. Broadcast credits as director, producer & writer include the upcoming HISTORY Germany productionStimmen der Coronakrise (2021), as well as the Crime+Investigation Germany short film series Ikonen? (2019). My debut as director, co-producer and co-writer was the independent no-budget feature film Mosquito: A Fistful of Bitcoins (2015), which is being distributed by Adler & Associates Entertainment, Inc.. Other broadcast credits include the Crime+Investigation Germany production The Invisible Line – Die Geschichte der Welle (2019), the HISTORY Germany productions Guardians of Heritage – Hüter Der Geschichte (2017) and Wigald & Fritz – Die Geschichtsjäger (2016), the A&E Germany production Protocols of Evil (2016), as well as the BBC4 production Great Poets in Their Own Words (2014).

In addition to my work in the film and television industry, I’m also active in the music industry. My most recent release is the Golden Days MMXX EP (2020). Previous album releases include The Brave Love (2018), which was released on the St. Petersburg-based label Liminal Recs, as well as its predecessor, my self-released debut album Initiation (2012), which was also  re-released on the Manchester-based record label Sister 9 Recordingsunder the title Initiation Revisited (2016).

I’ve completed an MA degree from the Centre for Cultural Studies and the Department of Media & Communications at Goldsmiths College, University of London, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the London College of Creative Media, Middlesex University.–
