At only 17 years-old, Cathy Jain is already making her alt-pop stardom known in the music industry.

The Salford born musician has just released her new EP, ‘artificial’ with YALA! Records, alongside her new track ‘I see us in heaven’.

Her highly anticipated tracks are infused with a mix of a hazy, R&B, alt-pop genre that exhibit her soothing vocals.

She describes her EP ‘artificial’ to be about authenticity. Allowing her listeners to look in to how we define what we see as real, virtually and mentally.

It showcases a range of tracks that will reassure listeners of how important their imagination and virtual life is in making up who you are.

Cathy said: “These songs have a more light-hearted, observational and kind of reassuring style rather than something heavy with a serious message, and this is reflected in the laid-back hazy vibe of the music”

She added: “All of the songs have this hazy, dream-like feeling but in quite different ways; more psychedelic in “green screen”, chilled R&B in “cool kid” and a darker, alternative style in “i see us in heaven”. I think the mix up in genres reflects the mixed up thinking about what is real and what’s fake, and how we tell the difference between the two.”

Her music features elements of Billie Eilish alternative pop and Frank Ocean’s soothing R&B tones to carry her meaningful lyrics.

Cathy’s standout debut single ‘cool kid’ has already had glowing reviews. BBC 6 Music presenter, Lauren Laverne was the first to play the track on her show.

The artist has also had support from Steve Lamacq and Radio 1 with the song being on their introducing playlist giving way for Cathy’s effortlessly relaxing music.

Cathy Jain’s music can now be listened to through different streaming platforms such as, Spotify and Apple Music, by clicking here.

Alternatively, you can even pre-order a very limited vinyl here.
