The NME award winner, Holly Humberstone, has released her emotional new EP, Sleep Tight.
The 22 year-old singer has become the UK’s next great songwriting talent, with over 260 million global streams.
Her latest release was written in collaboration with Matt Healy from the 1975’s.
This song follows on from the first song they wrote together called Please Don’t Leave Just Yet.
Holly described the emotions behind this new track to be based on catching feelings for a friend and not knowing whether to risk blurring the lines between friendship and romance.
She said: “It’s awkward trying to navigate catching feelings for a friend, as they are often feelings we might have been suppressing for some time. When they float to the surface, you have to weigh up the risks of getting hurt and potentially losing them in your life. I wrote ‘Sleep Tight’ about the uncertainty of friendships evolving into something more.
“The first summer out of lockdown was pretty crazy for my friends and I because we finally had our freedom back and acted like we had nothing to lose. This song takes me back to that time of what felt like no consequences and impending heartbreak.”
Holly fuses the sound of acoustics with a dark electronic twist to showcase her ability in using lyrics and melodies to transform painful human experience into collective joy.
Her captivating music has already made her into a BRITS Rising Star, followed by becoming an Ivor Novello nominee.
The honest storytelling in her music is capturing fans globally, it has recently led to her supporting grammy winner, Olivia Rodrigo, on her USA tour.
Holly has got an exciting summer ahead full of sold out shows, such as at the O2 Forum Kentish Town, London.
She’ll even be playing her music at iconic festivals such as, Glastonbury, Leeds, Primavera, and more.
Holly is a young artist who’s songwriting talent is not to be missed.
