Firstly, Sarah Jane Morris returns on 29th May with The Sisterhood, Volume 2 – a project celebrating the lives and achievements of twelve female singer-songwriters – the women who have altered the course of musical history.
The Sisterhood, Volume 2 celebrates twelve female musicians who dominated the singing and songwriting of the 20th century – Amy Winehouse, Big Mama Thornton, Bonnie Raitt, Debbie Harry, Etta James, Janis Ian, Joan Armatrading, Patti Smith, Peggy Seeger, Sinéad O’Connor and Tracy Chapman.

Over the last 30 years, their work has been covered by many artists including Jeff Tweedy, Andrew Bird and most-recently Phoebe Bridgers. Their song ‘Far From Any Road’ was the opening theme for HBO’s True Detective season one and still receives thousands of Shazams every week from all over the world.

A special collaboration is taking place this June between two incredible local Liverpool bands at The Tung Auditorium…
Novelty Island and Credits join forces with their amazing reimagining of Pet Sounds on its 6oth Anniversary and the anniversary of Brian Wilson’s 84th Birthday!
The surreal, lo-fi pop of Novelty Island’s new album Jigsaw Causeway has received extensive BBC 6 Music airplay and they’ve performed their papier-mache-prop-based live show at Glastonbury. Credits have supported Britpop-legends Shack with their alt-country songwriting and glorious vocal harmonies. The project will fuse musical and artistic talents for an immersive performance of Pet Sounds and more Beach Boys classics.

Recently announced for 2026, The Tung Auditorium also welcome back Jazz Camp for Girls – an incredible project in collaboration with Parrjazz that provides an opportunity for young female-identifying musicians to experience jazz and explore improvisation in a supportive environment.
The camps are designed for musicians and vocalists, years 8-10, with no or little experience of improvising, and aim to inspire them through a range of activities celebrating the work of women in the jazz industry.
‘Jazz Camp for Girls’ was inspired by ‘Jazzcamp for Piger’ a successful initiative developed by Jazz Denmark and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival to introduce young female musicians to improvisation, with an emphasis on improvisation and finding their own voice.
