Inspired by her visit to Lagos in 2019, ANJEL’s ‘Sere’ reflects her cherished memories of the city. She describes the process of writing the lyrics as deeply familiar and personal. ANJEL shares, “I was inspired by very nostalgic memories of being out in Lagos. The last time I was there in 2019 was filled with great food, great people, great parties, and honestly, sometimes dangerous situations but the aura of the city is one I deeply relate to.”
Produced in collaboration with Daniel Michael Victor, ‘Sere’ features rich instrumentation and evocative composition, capturing ANJEL’s personal connection to Lagos and resonating universally with its infectious rhythm and heartfelt lyrics.
