Sunset on the Lime Beds
The idea for ‘Sunset on the lime beds’ came to me after a friend’s dog was put to sleep. I remember him telling me about having a final night with the dog and taking it for a walk for the last time. I wondered how it must feel to take your dog for its final walk knowing it’ll be the last one, not wanting it to end, not wanting to go back home. Being a dog lover and having 2 of my own, the thought of this fills me with dread, so it was easy to emotionally connect with the subject. The lime beds are a popular dog walking spot and seemed like the perfect location for the song which tells the story of one man’s final walk with man’s best friend.
