Liverpool’s Milo Seabird are to follow up on their 2019 debut single with I Lie Low, a 5 track EP of brand new material to be released on 19th March.
Last year ex – Lumin Bells front man Nico Hercules teamed up with Ollie Hawes to start a new musical project. After adding Jamie Maguire on lead guitar, Dave Pye on bass and Wez Clarke on drums, Milo Seabird were born.
Focusing on songwriting and recording for most of 2019, the release of I Lie Low will be the first in a series of EPs for the band and will showcase the band’s gifts for melody, harmony and understated arrangements. The group’s influences range from the likes of Sparklehorse and Teenage Fanclub to Johnny Marr and White Album-era Beatles.
Lead track of the new EP, I Lie Low is the first collaboration between songwriters Nico Hercules and Ollie Hawes and was recorded with Si Jones from The Verve.
Closing track Tides & Time is another co-write, whilst Somehow The Same, Gone Too Soon and Can’t Blame Me are Nico originals.
The band are hosting a special launch night at Parr Street Studio 2 on Thursday 19th March, presented by Mellowtone. Tickets are available now from Skiddle.
