Jamie Webster continues the build-up to his fourth studio album, Running Round The Sun, with new single Turning Point – OUT NOW. Exploring resilience, the balance between life’s good days and bad, and the belief that meaningful change is possible with patience and perseverance, it finds the singer-songwriter delivering one of the album’s most honest, emotionally affecting and creatively ambitious songs.
Having road-tested new music as part of an intimate and celebratory mini-residency at Liverpool’s 10,000-capacity Blackstone Street Warehouse earlier this month, Webster releases his latest album preview, while also looking long term towards his Running Round The Sun UK & North America Tour, opening in Southampton on Fri 5 September 2026. Continuing to respond to demand from international audiences, he also adds three new North America dates, concluding in New York City on Sat 17 October 2026.

With his still growing, global reputation built on writing songs that connect to his fans’ shared experiences, Turning Point continues a more introspective line of creative direction as Webster deals with the recognition, praise and criticism that success brings to an artist’s door. Arriving quickly on the heels of the recent release of Small Town Life, complete with star-studded video, Turning Point is another signpost towards a refreshed Jamie Webster songbook that’s increasingly balanced between the stories of people and places he’s seen along the way and his own hard-won experiences.
“This is one of the most personal songs on the record,” says Webster. “It’s about recognising the difference between your good days and your bad days and understanding that somewhere between them is a moment where things can begin to change. Whether that’s a turning point in a day, a week, a year, or your entire life, we’ve all experienced it. It’s that moment when you decide to change your perspective, alter your habits, or start moving in a different direction.
“It’s about trying to break the cycle of negative thinking. It’s about reminding yourself that progress comes through persistence, through routine, through looking after yourself physically and mentally. A reminder that change is possible if you’re willing to keep moving towards it.”
A product of his extended stay at the iconic Rockfield Studios in the company of producer collaborators, Dave Eringa and Tim Cunningham, Turning Point’s instrumental intricacies are emblematic of Webster’s development as both a songwriter and recording artist.
Now confident enough to embrace restraint, valuable space exists where it should be left, tipping-points that allow the euphoric lift of the track’s chorus to achieve even greater impact. Anchored in place by a concrete bassline, the arrangement gradually unfolds through subtle synth textures, stout acoustic rhythm guitars, swelling background vocals and snaking electric lead lines, revealing the growing influence of American songwriting and college radio on his increasingly assured musical identity.
Turning Point is the third single to be lifted off Running Round The Sun, which is released on standard and special edition fans vinyl variants, CD and digital on Fri 4 September 2026 via Modern Sky. Launching with the defiant opener, Just Begun, the album that is emerging, single-by-single, is one that embraces vulnerability as readily as celebration, not searching for easy answers but knowing solutions lie in resilience, perspective and bringing people together.
Standing by that collective experience as a foundation of everything he does, Webster takes Running Round The Sun on the road this September with his 18-date UK and North America tour beginning the day after the album’s release. On many more intimate headline shows than usual for the arena-filling artist, many fans will experience Webster’s new material at close quarters, alongside favourites from a catalogue that has steadily established him as one of Britain’s most compelling live performers. Running Round The Sun follows Webster’s 2024 UK Official Albums Chart Top Five album, 10 For The People. Alongside Cunningham on bass, the record once again features Webster’s long-standing bandmates Danny Murphy (guitars) and Jim Sharrock (drums), whose chemistry has become an integral part of the album’s evolved sound.
From grassroots gigs in Liverpool pubs to headline arena shows, major outdoor appearances and international tours, Webster’s rise has been built on an enduring connection with audiences drawn to the honesty, warmth and optimism at the heart of his songwriting. Since his UK Top Ten debut We Get By in 2020, followed by the UK Top Five success of Moments in 2022 and 2024’s No.2-charting 10 For The People, Webster has continued to broaden both his musical horizons and his reach, taking his songs to ever larger audiences across the UK, Europe, Australia, Canada and the United States.
