EVOL & Harvest Sun – Liverpool Gig Listings (Audio Visual) – 2019

Some record labels are so consistently good that many of us in the pre-internet age would actually buy a single on one of those labels from an artist we didn’t know, without even hearing it, because we trusted the judgement of those labels. It was like a seal of quality! Labels such as Stiff, 2 Tone, 4AD, XL Recordings, Ninja Tune, Heavenly Recordings, Beggars Banquet and not forgetting Liverpool’s own Deltasonic spring to mind, but there are many more.

Likewise on the Liverpool Live music scene we are blessed to have quality promoters such as EVOL and Harvest Sun who put their heart and soul, sweat, tears and dosh into bringing the very best bands on the planet to our fine city, crafting quality lineups that never disappoint.

If, like me, you don’t have as much time as you’d like for discovering new bands, there may be several bands on their flyers that you haven’t yet heard of, and will kick yourself when you do and realise you’ve missed them – but finding time to research bands isn’t always easy when you are busy,

So, I’ve done the leg, finger and ear work and dug out a video from each of the headliners on the list,

Personally, I’m particularly looking fwd to Hands Off Gretel (lead picture – they were mind-blowing at the Great British Alternative Music Festival last year, and the album is stunning) and The Coathangers – when I received the press release, the video of their latest single instantly grabbed me, and on listening to their other songs it seems they never put a foot wrong.

Fontaines D.C. and Red Rum Club are making a lot of waves, and of course the legendary Robyn Hitchcock needs no introduction!

I saw This is the Kit play the Glastonbury bandstand several years ago, so good to see that they are going from strength to strength.

But there are literally no duds on this list – sit back, listen, enjoy and start planning which gigs you’re going to attend!
