A Global DIY Metal Concept Album by Ivan Shishkov
In late 2024, Bulgarian musician Ivan Shishkov unveiled his passion project BRAINMAZE, a dark and powerful concept album titled When Your Demons Come. Unlike most band releases, BRAINMAZE is a one-man vision brought to life through international collaboration, late-night dedication, and a fully DIY approach.
Shishkov—who handled music, lyrics, arrangements, photography, design, lyric videos, and financing—worked with freelance musicians from the UK, Venezuela, Argentina, and Ecuador, coordinating entirely online. The album was mixed in Ukraine, mastered at Imperial Mastering (USA), and produced during a year of sleepless nights after long days running his photo, print, and advertising studio.
