‘Cream Classical’ is back at Liverpool Cathedral this weekend for consecutive shows on the Friday and Saturday nights. The event has become one of the highlights of Liverpool’s cultural calendar and is perfectly situated in the beautifully grandiose (and acoustically spectacular) Liverpool Cathedral.
The Classical shows have gained something of a reputation thanks to its innovative exquisite sound production, iconic location and it’s cross-generational appeal. The main show is performed by the 50 piece Kaleidoscope Orchestra, directed by acclaimed conductor and arranger Tim Crooks. The evening’s musical playlist will be curated by none other than DJ/Producer duo K-Klass – showcasing dance music at its best with a perfectly crafted soundtrack.
Cream is a legendary brand in Liverpool and played a huge part in the lives of so many people. Cream was a world-renowned club which became the epicenter of dance music and hence, a focal point for so many people involved in the dance music scene. It’s club nights will go down in Liverpool folklore whilst the music it promoted continues to innovate and excite in equal measure.
‘Cream Classical’ is a perfect example of this evolution. The formation of this night has had unbridled success due to a combination of factors, but none more so than the quality of the music and the excellence of it’s delivery. The result of this cross-genre mash-up is a night predicated on excellent musicianship and the classic and iconic dance songs that compel and draw the audience to the dancefloor.
The choice of space and its undeniable synchronicity with nights such as ‘Cream Classical’ gives this night an atmosphere like no other. It’s no surprise that tickets are completely sold out for both nights; with people desperate to experience the masterpiece first hand.
God is a DJ (for these two nights of the year at least!).
Cream Classical is at Liverpool Cathedral Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd February. For those that do not have tickets, there’s a waiting list here.
