This April will see the return of the popular series ‘Music for the Mind & Soul’ in a brand new format. The event is inspired by Milap’s 35 year history and takes the form of a ‘festival day’ designed to attract people of all ages and backgrounds.
The festival will take place at Liverpool’s Capstone Theatre on Saturday April 25th. The new ‘Music for the Mind & Soul Festival Day’ will offer both loyal and new audiences a fresh and holistic experience of Indian & South Asian Arts and Culture, through a newly conceptualised day of performance, talks, workshops, yoga and Indian cuisine.
The day will start with an early morning yoga session with beautiful live Sitar accompaniment, followed by an Indian Classical Morning Raga Performance.
There will be two headline musical shows that will take place in the afternoon and evening, featuring some of the biggest names alongside the very best rising talent in Indian Arts. For a younger audience, a special late-morning children’s performance will offer the perfect way to introduce the younger members of your family to Indian classical music, plus talks and workshops will introduce enthusiasts to Hindustani music and Indian vocal techniques.
Delicious authentic Indian Food will also be available throughout the day.
Milap have made sure that this ‘festival-in-a-day’ will to cater to the young and old, regardless of whether you know or understand Indian music, they claim it just needs to be experienced. People can stay for the entire day, or just drop in for a specific event that they like the look of.

These Saturdays will be a window on Indian arts and culture, and we are creating an immersive experience designed to send people home happy! Indian arts have the power to uplift, unite and entertain, and we want to give each and every person who comes through our doors a moving experience. We’re excited to welcome back our loyal audience members to our new programme of events, and have retained many of the aspects of our performances that they enjoy, including world-class artists, our unique afternoon concert, and delicious food.
We’re also eager to welcome newcomers to our experiences, including young children and families, and are giving everyone the chance to learn, participate and spend the whole day with us immersed in Indian arts and culture. Drop in for your favourite part of the day, or make Milap your home for the day – either way we are going to make sure you have a great time!”
