Juice Crew return to UK after 20 years!

Appearing in the UK for the first time in two decades.

The history of classic hip hop is one centred around teamwork and now, the legendary NYC hip hop collective, Juice Crew, have announced a run of just three UK shows this autumn in London, Bristol and Manchester. This will be the first time the original super group of hip hop have played on British soil for more than 20 years.

The Queensbridge collective’s contribution to hip hop during the 80s was mammoth, with founding member and mastermind Marley Marl with original JuiceCrew member, Mr Magic, using the collective as a platform to showcase young and exciting artists, such as the then little known Big Daddy Kane, now widely regarded
as one of the greatest rappers of the 80s.

The Grammy Award winning Big Daddy Kane will be joined on this very special UK tour by Kool G Rap, bringing his unique flow and rhymes, alongside the creative genius and veteran of the group, Masta Ace; plus MC Shan, who has recorded some of the most essential old-school recordings hip hop has to offer; battle rapper
Craig G, and the only female member of the Juice Crew, Roxanne Shanté.

From notorious beefs with other crews, to infamous diss tracks and what can only be described as one the best posse cuts ever in the shape of ‘The Symphony’, the Juice Crew’s remarkable career defines the golden era of hip hop.

Their musical output continues to inspire numerous artists, with the most notable of these being hip hop heavyweight Nas, who hails from the same beginnings in Queens and has reworked some of the group’s iconic tracks such as ‘Da Bridge 2001’, was an ode to the group’s classic 1986 release, ‘The Bridge’.

The group were also a genuine inspiration to their local community and musicians alike, as Nas previously summed up in a past interview, “[The Juice Crew] made us believe that although we came from those wild streets, we still had a chance to change our lives”.

Don’t miss the chance to witness six original Juice Crew artists reuniting for an unmissable celebration of old school hip hop this November.
