You produced “Fresh Air” at Truphonic Studios—what role did the studio environment play in shaping the track’s sound?
Writing this song in the studio was a very fun and engaging process because I got to work with my producer Elliott Elsey as well as be surrounded by friends.
Your tracks have accumulated over 180,000 Spotify streams so far. How do you measure success as an independent artist beyond streaming numbers?
I find that success as an artist can be quantified by continuing to make music and being authentic to your purpose.
Funk grooves, blues guitar, and pop-forward melodies define your sound. How do you approach blending genres without losing your identity?
I love mixing and matching genres because I draw inspiration from so many different types of music. Ultimately I want my sound to reflect my diverse taste.
Can you talk about the process of translating your guitar skills into songs that connect with a wider audience?
Guitar is a very holistic instrument for me and I find it very easy to convey emotions and motifs through my playing.
What challenges did you face when evolving your sound between your EP Mystic and your latest single?
I sometimes find it hard to not be sentimental and create ideas I’ve had for a long time.
“Fresh Air” has a tight rhythm section—how important is collaboration with other musicians in your work?
I’ve loved collaborating with musicians on my projects recently and I think it’s very important to meet new people that can support your music.
In today’s music landscape, how do you balance creating music you love with the expectations of streaming platforms and listeners?
I try to make music I personally want to hear and hope that my audience will resonate.
How has your experience performing live influenced your songwriting and studio work?
Performing shows has allowed me to see what people respond too musically and has also inspired me to make more live-sounding records.
As someone steadily building a global fanbase, how do you approach connecting with listeners from different musical backgrounds?
I believe music is a universal language so I’m not surprised that people in different
countries stream my songs.
Looking ahead, how do you envision the next chapter of your music career in terms of sound, collaborations, or live shows?
I plan to make more albums with great musicians and play my music on tour.
