For years, I’ve listened to the Happy Place podcast, connecting with its powerful messages and finding purpose in the daily challenges of life. I’d always wanted to attend the festival but never made it. This year, it felt like a magnet and I wasn’t disappointed. Stepping into Tatton Park for the first time, after living in Cheshire for 30 years, felt like a long overdue journey.

The festival was an explosion of positive energy. From the massive archway for photos to the tipi’s and yoga mats scattered across the grounds, a feeling of pure positivity flowed through the air. You could feel it in the energy of the crowds, the buzz around the food stalls which, by the way, were incredible and the sheer joy on people’s faces throughout was not undermined but the bouts of rain that appeared in the afternoon.

My day was defined by two unforgettable workshops. First, I joined Dayna Kent for a sound bath. Dayna, who attended the very first Happy Place Festival as a trainee, has now come full circle to lead her own amazing sessions. The sound bath was beyond words a truly lifting experience where the vibrations seemed to almost carry me. Later, I attended a class with Kirsty Gallagher. The passion and emotion in the room was tangible, and I left feeling empowered and driven by her every word. The session was scheduled for 45 minutes, but we all stayed well past the time, completely absorbed by her message.

The festival’s website says it perfectly: “Happy Place Festival isn’t just a temporary escape from the chaos of the world, it’s a reminder to prioritise self-care, cultivate gratitude, and embrace the beauty of the present moment.” I can honestly say I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired, with tools to apply to my everyday life. It’s an event I will never forget.
