Fatboy Slim is renowned for blending funk and rock samples with catchy pop patterns to create high energy dance anthems. These mashups paired with huge, visually engaging live performances truly make the audience feel like part of the track.

His performance at the festival in Delamere Forest was nothing short of mesmerising, helping Forest Live celebrate it’s 25th anniversary. With people of all ages in the audience, an infectious sense of joy and belonging was widespread across the venue. The natural surroundings of the beautiful forest along with a hazy summer’s evening created an unforgettable atmosphere.

Fatboy Slim opened the set on Saturday night with Willy Wonka’s ‘Pure Imagination’ building anticipation before seamlessly moving into his signature lively sound. One of the evenings most memorable moments was when Norman himself left the stage to join the crowd during a compelling mashup of ‘It Just Won’t Do’. Heightening the crowds already vibrant energy, by transforming his set into a shared experience. Followed shortly after by a mix of the classic Born Slippy and Mr.Brightside, undoubtedly sparking a huge singalong as the entire crowd threw their hands in the air. As a DJ, Cook combines technical skill with a real understanding of what his audience wants.

Closing the night with, ‘Satisfaction Skank’ and delivering one last surge of energy to the thousands of people who clearly weren’t ready for the night to end. There was a noticeable pause before everyone began making their way home, many seemed in disbelief that the show was over as it had gone by so quickly. A fitting end to a great set.
