Scouse artist, Matt McManamon, has released his moving new single ‘Meet me by the river’.
The latest release has been described as a love letter to his hometown Liverpool.
The single is part of his debut album ‘Scally folk’ which features his previous singles: ‘Everytime I Close My Eyes’ and ‘Jumpin’ The Gun.’
‘Meet me by the river’ was produced by the celebrated Mick Cronin, (Kodaline, Shane MacGowan).
The single showcases Matt’s folk pop brilliance. It has a mixture of melancholy and tenderness shown through a song about lost loves in Liverpool.
Matt said: “As with many songs in the past 2 years, it’s meaning has evolved.
“Now living in Ireland I feel even more drawn to the need to revisit those streets where I grew up. And where my musical influences were first formed.”
His latest music is a refreshing new sound, a stark contrast to his punk and ska music in his former band ‘The Dead 60s’.
His first album release in 2021 is highly anticipated by fans of his work as singer and songwriter of his previous band.
Matt has also announced his exciting headline gig in Liverpool.
For his November UK tour, he’ll be performing an intimate gig at The Angus Tap & Grind on Monday 22, November 2021.
It will be a special night of acoustic folk pop tracks played as homage to his Liverpudlian roots.
