With Movements In Hope, SonicNeuron fuse machine intellect and human fragility into a soundscape that feels eerily intimate and strikingly alive. We sat down with the creators to explore how they found that balance — and how technology is reshaping the emotional gravity of music itself.
How did the idea of integrating AI tools into human-led music production first come about for SonicNeuron?
During the last holiday season, Jason and I met with several creative friends and decided we should join forces on an ambitious program of multiple projects throughout 2025. AI proved incredibly empowering for us, especially given our limited resources and access. A high-quality proof-of-concept we created gave us the confidence to move forward and take our music albums and EPs to market.
“Tears of Joy” has an emotive, cinematic Afro-Swing sound. How did you craft that particular atmosphere?
After our initial mixing we approached Audio Animals in London who have a rich portfolio on Hollywood movies. Paul Ashmore brought out the cinematic sound and feel to the music we wanted.
With 10k Miles, you capture a feeling of global connection—how did you use sound design to represent different cultures?
We wanted to consolidate all the sounds that one would come across whilst travelling 10,000 miles within two minutes. That’s what we hear in 10k Miles.
How do you balance technology’s precision with the imperfections that make music feel alive?
In our experience the technological output is imperfect and we need to perfect it with human intervention.
Many producers fear AI might “dehumanize” music. How does SonicNeuron counter that narrative?
We adopted AI and approached it from the experience standpoint. We have certain experiences to be delivered to our audience, can AI help us with that? if yes, then we take it from AI, if not, we fill the gaps working with other musicians and engineers.
What’s next for SonicNeuron—will AI remain central to your creative DNA moving forward?
Kicking off 2026 in January, we’re dropping Revived Secrets, a full album resurrecting songs and melodies from extinct languages. By Q2, we’re scoring original OSTs for a vibrant Brazilian soap opera. ○ Still in active production (and now spilling over into 2026) is a very special album we’re co-creating with a handful of incredible Indian musicians. And we can’t forget the visuals: full music videos for every track on Movements In Hope are in post-production now, dropping throughout the year.
