Perspective are a four-piece UK band making music that hits both the heart and the hips, blending unfiltered storytelling with irresistible grooves. Anchored by KG’s emotionally rich lyrics, Riccardo’s colourful guitar lines, Liam’s funk-driven basslines, and Ezra’s powerful rhythmic backbone, the band carve out a fresh lane in modern pop—one shimmering with disco sparkle, funk rhythms, alternative charm, and melodic warmth. With a sound designed to move bodies while opening up honest emotional space, Perspective’s mission is clear: to make people feel, dance, and genuinely connect. In this interview, the band reflect on their creative process, influences, and the shared energy that defines their growing world.
If your album were a cocktail, what would it be called and what’s in it?
Our cocktail would be called Peace, Love & Disco – spreading joy with every sip. It would probably be a rum based cocktail – definitely a spiced rum – but then the mixer is up for debate as we all have very different tastes. We’ll try a few different combinations and update you when we have found the magic sauce!
Which song on the album would you most like to see turned into a TikTok dance challenge?
There are two tracks that would definitely suit being a TikTok dance challenge – Take Them All Down & Scream Therapy – but we have actually had a lot of interest in Scream Therapy from different TikTok influencers so that one would probably be most likely. TikTok dance challenges need to be quite simple so the ‘down, down’ down’ down’ in Take Them All Down would definitely make it easier for everyone of all ages and abilities to join in.
If you could have one famous musician join you on stage for a show, who would it be and why?
It would 100% be Nile Rogers – when we started writing this album Nile Rogers was a huge inspiration – especially on the funk and disco tracks – and to play live with him would be absolutely insane! We think we would be able to write some incredible tracks together as well – make it happen!
“Dirty Game” tells a wild story – did any of you ever imagine that happening when writing it?
The story behind dirty game is actually the oldest story we tell across the whole album – it happened around 12 years ago. So the story was actually the inspiration for the song. What was strange was writing this track from the perspective of looking back to a time in a previous life – it was actually very empowering writing about a huge dramatic heartbreak but actually being in such a good place in the present that it’s a story that can now be laughed at rather than a story that causes any pain.
What’s the funniest or weirdest thing that’s happened while recording the album?
We had a lot of laughs over the 2 years of writing this album but can’t pinpoint an exact funny moment to share. We did fully fund and produce this album ourselves – which meant a lot of the studio spaces we hired were very budget to keep our costs low – one of which we hired a home studio from a local producer and we spent a lot of time wrestling with the dog in the house. He was a very cute german shepherd puppy – but very unproductive when you are half way through a take and the dog wants to join in with the singing.
If each band member were a disco move, what move would they be?
Ezra would definitely be the funky chicken as he always stands out from the crowd, Liam would probably be the disco finger – keeping it simple and easy but the most popular move to make, Riccardo would do the robot – he’s still a bit broken from an accident earlier this year so that would be the easiest move to do & KG would probably just freestyle – he can’t learn choreography but has a few of his own moves in the locker that come out after a few beers. We’re still not sure if he’s on the beat but it’s definitely fun to watch.
Which track do you secretly want people to play on repeat, even if it’s not the single?
Probably Power or Skeletons – these two tracks were the most personal lyrics for KG to write, so he really hopes that people out there listening resonate with the words and storytelling of these tracks. Hopefully they give the listener a feeling of self-love & empowerment even when going through tough times.
If you could perform your album anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
We’d love the opportunity to perform everywhere and anywhere to be honest but there are a few locations that would be incredible – Wembley, Glastonbury & even our local hometowns of each band member. Whether big or small we’d give the full Perspective show of joy & love.
Which song on the album best describes each member’s personality?
This isn’t focused necessarily on the lyrics from each song or the story that each song tells but more the playing style from our live shows. Late to the Party is definitely Ezra’s go to – he likes playing heavier on the drums and this track allows him to go hard, Riccardo probably either Skeletons or Take Them All Down – two very different tracks but both show off his incredible skills – particularly within the individual guitar solos on these tracks, Liam could be any of the tracks to be honest as his basslines are the backbone of the album but maybe Take Them All Down or Dirty Game & for KG it would be either Power or Hurt You Anymore – both his favourite tracks to perform – but again all of the tracks could describe his personality as the words have literally come from his mind.
If Perspective were a superhero team, what would your powers be, and who’s the leader?
Liam would use his bass to control gravity and be able to bring crowds into the venue through gravitational pull – ensuring we always sell out. His basslines literally lock people into place or can move entire crowds around dancefloors. Ezra would use his drums for rhythm control and would be able to control time, sound and momentum – meaning he can speed up or slow down any situation – as well as freezing time. Riccardo would use his guitar riffs both offensively and defensively and would be able to use his sounds to protect the band and take anyone down who gets in the way. KG would use his voice to control minds – he could turn bad into good and good into bad and can manipulate your thoughts, feelings and actions through his words. He can literally get the crowd singing along to be used as an extension of his power to literally take them all down. He would also likely be the leader as our front man – leading from the front and taking charge.
