“still an understated triumph of the festival season” NME, 5*

“Subtle evolution, not revolution, has been the steady success of this 25,000 capacity all-ages celebration of musical eclecticism and reverence in nature: it’s practically as much a part of the Powys landscape as the soaring mountains that wrap the site in their misty embrace.” The Guardian, 5*

“one of the most reliable gatherings on the ever more cluttered festival calendar.” The Times, 4*

“Green Man is a rather magical cult happening that mingles timelines past, present and future. Up in the top field, as the annual flame ritual begins, it may be the psychedelic ale but you’d swear the Green Man himself opens one eye, nods to himself and settles in to burn a couple more decades yet.” The Independent, 4*

“Green Man, now in its twenty-first year, is continuing its growth and evolution into one of Europe’s most unique, intriguing and rewarding festivals … characterised by an identity that isn’t aimed at any one particular demographic.” The Quietus

“Green Man is now entering its third decade, and its reputation for sustainable, inclusive fun just keeps growing.”Clash

“quite possibly your favourite artist’s favourite festival; endorsements don’t come much better than that.”DIY

Wales’ largest music, science and arts festival, Green Man, today announces the day-by-day line-up for the 2024 event, in the epic surroundings of the Black Mountains deep in the heart of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park from the 15th – 18th of August.

The magic of Green Man lies not just in its scenery and music. Further line ups of music, science, film, comedy & literature will be revealed in the coming months.

Festival goers who have purchased a Settler’s Pass, a special ticket which includes discounts on local heritage sites, galleries, castles and more, will arrive on Monday 12th August for a week in the Welsh valleys as part of their Green Man 2024 experience. About Green Man

Now entering its third decade, Green Man is the largest contemporary music festival in Wales, an award-winning seven day event that attracts 25,000 daily visitors from across the world to the breathtaking Bannau Brycheiniog. The Green Man experience spans music, comedy, literature, film, performance and installation art, wellness, science, as well as specific arenas for both children and teens. It was the first UK festival to sell out for the 2024 season, which it did in just two hours without any line-up announced.

The festival is well known for nurturing and launching new talent; artists such as Fontaines DC, Michael Kiwanuka, Self Esteem, First Aid Kit and Kae Tempest have all had their first seminal performances at Green Man.

Green Man is one the four remaining large independent festivals in the UK. It generates £10 million into the Welsh economy, and is the only large UK festival where a woman has controlling ownership. It was awarded a Gold Charter by Attitude is Everything, a charity that improves accessibility for people with disabilities across the events industry.

Green Man is the only large festival to refuse sponsorship, so programming freedom is retained by curators, and independent Welsh food & beverage producers can showcase and sell their produce to new customers. The Courtyard hosts Green Man’s unique Welsh Beer and Cider festival: a celebration of independent Welsh breweries, serving up 100s of beers & ales sourced from across Wales. Green Man piloted the first UK festival science engagement area and was the first festival to offer on-site training in skills and social engagement to former refugees and asylum seekers.

Over the last 15 years, the Powys company behind Green Man has diversified into food and beverage, hospitality, training, design and concept development, science engagement, wellness, as well as all aspects of event management.

About Green Man Trust

Now in its 10th anniversary year, the Green Man Trust is the charitable arm of the Green Man Festival. The Green Man supports Welsh, national and international talent, champions new ideas and creates opportunities. Fiona Stewart founded the Green Man Trust 10 years ago to extend the festival’s ambition of supporting future generations and addressing the climate crisis by offering creative, educational, social development opportunities within the arts, sciences and Welsh communities.

Thousands of projects and people have been supported since the trust was founded in 2014. Over the last three years 12,000+ people have been supported by Green Man Trust, £13,000 donated to Welsh food banks in 2022 in response to cost of living crisis, £3,000 donated for Ukrainian war relief, £16,000 has been raised for Welsh vulnerable people affected by storm Dennis flood, £100,000 was spent to commission 223 artists during the pandemic and over 100 community projects have been supported.

In 2024, the Trust opened a £20,000 Community Grant to encourage inclusiveness and wellness in local communities in Powys, and to combat the social and economic impact of the widening wealth and age gap on future generations.
