Introducing a major new festival for the North-west this Winter… FAVOURITE DAYS.

Taking over an array of iconic music haunts in the heart of Liverpool, this unique multi-venue festival will be inviting some of the best and brightest acts from the UK and beyond to the city between 6th-10th November.

Promising five days of unmissable curated gigs, Favourite Days will be hosting a total of 12 individual shows with over 35+ acts due to star across its choice line-ups. And today, the festival is delighted to announce the first bands who will be joining the bill…

All profits from the Favourite Days Festival will be reinvested into the community to fund opportunities for local bands and support the independent venues that are the lifeblood of the local music scene. This initiative helps smaller or riskier shows succeed, contributing to a vibrant and sustainable music culture. Additionally, the festival will also focus on creative programming, providing local bands with access to the festival fund to organise showcase events, and further enhancing their visibility and growth.

One of the biggest breakthrough bands of recent years – YARD ACT – are nailed-on for the event. Earning a No.2 chart placing and Mercury Prize nomination for their debut album ‘The Overload’, the band’s trajectory has continued to rocket skyward, with its wildly ambitious follow-up this year. Showcasing whip smart lyrics and a litany of influences ranging from Fela Kuti to Ennio Moricone via Spiller’s ‘00s pop smash ‘Groovejet’; new album ‘Where’s My Utopia’ featured the hit singles such “Dream Job”, “Petroleum”, “When The Laughter Stops” and of course “We Make Hits”. Seizing the No.4 spot in the official charts upon release, The Guardian praised the record as a “leap forward for the Leeds post-punkers…. joyous richness” (4*). Riding-high on a rave reception to their second album, the boundary-pushing quartet will be checking-out of 2024 with this major headline show at Favourite Days to add to their achievements.

Elsewhere on the bill, Dublin’s hottest prospects of recent times SOMEBODY’S CHILD will also be performing. A groundbreaking new voice in the Irish music scene, the Frenchkiss Records signees have won over fans on both sides of the Atlantic through their passionate live performances opening for major bands such as Kaiser Chiefs and The War On Drugs, performing on the Late Late Show in the US, and selling out a raft of headline shows in the process. Produced by Mikko Gordon (The Smile, Arcade Fire), the band released their self-titled debut album to warm reviews last year and have teased new music to come in 2024 with the essential new track “Oh Emily”.

One of the brightest bands to emerge from Ireland in recent memory – SPRINTS – will be triumphantly setting the paces with a coveted slot at the fest. With an art for transforming pain into truth, passion into purpose and perseverance into strength, the Dublin four-piece have steadily grown in stature over the last three years, sharing two acclaimed EPs and building a fearsome live reputation opening for the likes of Yard Act and Suede. Releasing their debut album ‘Letter To Self’ earlier this year, Sprints more than justified the hype with a record strewn with vulnerable moments and visceral garage-punk thrills. Get ready to feel the catharsis of their staggering live show at Favourite Days.

Praised by BBC6 Music’s Chris Hawkins and recently coined as ‘Manchester’s next greatest success’ by Northern Exposure Magazine, Stockport risers THE ROLLING PEOPLE will also feature at Favourite Days 2024. Just three years young, the band have quickly earned an unparalleled reputation for their energising performances and equally feral crowds and released their long-awaited debut EP ‘Before It’s Gone’ in May just gone. With a huge homecoming show this December, catch them in Liverpool while you can.

Portland Oregon STRFKR will be jetting in for a set of their typically face-melting indie-rock as they tour with acclaimed new record ‘Parallel Realms’, while BBC 6 Music favourite ANTHONY SZMIEREK will be packing vibes aplenty into an evening of his literate indie hip-hop. There’s also opportunity to catch the enigmatic London Grime MC and producer sensation CASISDEAD in the flesh, following the release of his Top 10 charting debut album ‘Famous Last Words’ last year.

Also on the bill, Bristol breakouts and stars of SXSW 2024, SALOON DION, will be scorching eyebrows with one of their typically energetic and uncompromising live performances. Plus, Australian rock renegades FLOODLIGHTS will return following the release of 2023’s landmark ‘Painting Of My Time’. An album that saw the band praised by NME as “the country’s most unflinching truth-tellers” (4*), their Liverpool appearance will be their first UK show here in over a year.

In addition, Favourite Days is also delighted confirm appearances from rising talents including Bristol-based talent FELIX, an artist destined to win hearts with his shimmering indie-rock and shiver-inducing vocals; Manchester alt-pop star in the making FREAK SLUG, an artist hailed by Notion as “the newest indie star who should be on your radar”; plus, local favourites BRIGHT TOWN, a Liverpool band who take cues from Laurel Canyon Americana, 2000s chamber pop, and the new wave of alt-country – think Wilco meets Clean Cut Kid and Midlake. Plus, performances from BARSTAFF, PET SNAKE, STRANGE COLLECTIVE, YOBS, PACIFICAZE, RIVIA, EMZ, NO FAKIN X W/LOVE X CONDUIT SOUND, and KEYSIDE will be peppering this sublime week with a diverse array of sounds to suit every palate. Standby for a wave of extra names still to come…
