Established in 1990 in the village of Wraysbury, Hummdrumm Records emerged as an independent label under Discovery Sounds distribution, founded by Ronny Anderson. The label’s inaugural act, UK TAG, introduced their indie sound with the EP “Amateurs” and the CD single “Examine Me Roughly,” laying the foundation for what would evolve into a diverse musical journey.

Ronny Anderson’s career took a transformative step in 1994 when he joined forces with Mo’s Music Machine, a prominent player in the UK dance music scene. Leading the International Licensing and Export division, Anderson honed his skills in identifying and promoting global music trends, establishing himself as a key figure in the industry. His tenure until 2008 not only saw the growth of Hummdrumm Records but also expanded into music publishing, nurturing emerging talents under his wing.

After a period of hiatus, Hummdrumm Records returned to the forefront in 2014 with a renewed focus and energy. The label’s resurgence was marked by the signing of heavy metal band Everafter, signaling a bold move into new musical territories. This revival paved the way for a diverse roster that included The Indigo Rising, Toucan, and Martin Aelred Colgan, reflecting the label’s commitment to exploring a wide spectrum of musical genres and styles.

Today, Hummdrumm Records continues to thrive under Anderson’s leadership, celebrating a rich tapestry of musical offerings and embracing the ever-changing landscape of the music industry. With a legacy rooted in indie beginnings and a forward-thinking approach, the label remains a beacon of creativity and resilience in music.
