Founded in 2024 by friends Jon Withnall (Rhianna, Coldplay), Martin Tibbets and Mario Anastasiadis (Rise Records), ‘New Retro’ have hit the ground running with first signees ‘Lois Levin’ and ‘Bette Schindler’

With Lois Levin already achieving plays on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing and Jazz FM, accruing 170,000 Spotify streams and performing UK wide sold-out shows, and Bette Schindler’s highly anticipated debut EP ‘Woke Up’ dropping March 2025, the new Jazz and Soul label has well and truly established itself as the place to be for up-and-coming artists.

Martin says ‘it’s so hard to get a label to sign an act these days, and artists are fighting to get themselves heard above all the noise, and we thought there must be another way? A label that builds a community around the artists.’ With Jon adding ‘We keep everything In-house, from producing to getting music heard by the right people, this is how we keep our costs down and give our artists fair deals. Labels are getting left behind because they’re not adapting, artists are getting left behind because they aren’t being heard and if they are, aren’t making any money’.

On the future of the label Mario said, ‘We’re a Jazz and Soul label for now who knows what the future holds, we have two great artists with some fantastic releases in the pipeline but we’re always keeping our ears to the ground for new acts to welcome on board’.
