After their success at the Threshold Festival in the Baltic Triangle The Secret Circus are back in May at Studio 2 Parr Street, Liverpool with a lesson you don’t want to miss!
This bunch of funny, naughty and caring young individuals bring their festival of fun to the stage on Thursday 16 May with the theme of Sex Education.
Let’s celebrate our individuality and diversity by respecting and embracing the topics of consent and LGBTOI+ sex ed lessons with; a trans comedian talking about their sex positive femme journey, Beija Flo singing and spreading the word about MRKH syndrome, Diva Hollywood with her Drag King act, Titsalina Bumsquash (the name says it all!) and comedian Josh McAuley talking about his Grinder and online dating exploits and many more acts.
In a celebration of colour and unity we take this 3-hour ride into the unknown learning a lot of valuable lessons along the way. This is the last Secret Circus in Liverpool before they break up for the Summer Holiday so do not be disappointed and book your tickets today. Book Tickets here.
Let’s meet some of the performers:
Beija Flo (featured above)
Essex-born and brought to Liverpool by LIPA, the young artist is one of the most exciting new acts on Merseyside, combining the familiar elements of her music with more abstract, cutting-edge and innovative ideas, much like the neoclassical gallery we find ourselves within today.
“Sex and the body are a key issue within my work and always will be until sexual education for women has drastically improved”
Diva Hollywood is the UK’s comedic whip cracking cabaret performer who has wowed audiences worldwide for 14 years. Diva makes audiences laugh with her comedic personas, and then amazes with her two-handed whip-cracking skills. Her upbeat and irreverent style uses physical comedy to bring her characters to life from Tiger-woman to gender fluid pirate.
In 2005 Diva burst onto the stage at New York’s infamous Slipper Room and since then has performed regularly around the world headlining clubs in Paris, New York, Milan, Geneva, Iceland, Norway, Berlin and San Francisco.
Some say she’s a Legend, others say she is a comedy genius – we say she’s a gobshite.
Titsalina grew up in a small village in the West country where she spent valuable time scrumping apples and playing chicken with tractors. She’s always been a bit of a show off and making people laugh is one of her most favourite things to do…
After a few blurry student years in Manchester, Tits found a home there, and friends and… BURLESQUE! From the moment she watched her first show, she was hooked; what can be better than glamour, comedy AND nudity?
Don’t miss out and you might be tempted to run away with the circus
