Liverpool Grand Central is one of the most iconic venues in the city and is recorded in the Natural Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building – incorporating all of the classic features of Art Noveau design.
The main architecture of the building was developed in 1811 and served as a central chapel for Liverpool’s Presbyterian community. Since then, the building has had numerous incarnations and has served as a cinema, a theatre and a place for independent traders to sell goods and services.
However, the historic Liverpool Grand Central has now been reborn after an ambitious new refurbishment programme. The result is a beautiful, multi-purpose event space and entertainment & leisure destination – including an assemblage of world class restaurants that make up the spectacular new food-hall, The Grand Central Food Bazaar.
The Grand Central Food Bazaar will open 30th June and has been devised as an upmarket, open eatery space which will play host to 12 independent food retailers; all curated by Liverpool’s very own Izakaya Restaurant. The Gaudi-inspired, art noveau Bazaar space will be located in the former-Quiggins area of the building and will offer an assortment of local and international cuisines designed to suit all palates. Grand Central Food Bazaar promises to offer Liverpool’s finest gastronomic experience and will have you savouring every last culinary delight.
Co-owner, Kurt Wilson said: “People can expect to find something totally unique, there’s nothing like this in the UK. People will be able to choose from a fantastic selection of restaurants, watch some of the best chefs in the region produce food directly in front you, sit down and eat from a plate and enjoy the truly magical surroundings. Within the one area we have secret bars, outdoor garden areas, street food and extremely high-quality restaurants serving food.”
The Grand Central Food Bazaar will be launched 29th June with a glittering launch event – giving you the opportunity to have an introductory glimpse of this fantastic new space and be the first to sample all of the amazing cuisines on offer. Although the food retailers are a closely guarded secret, we can reveal that three of the vendors are Liverpool favourites IZAKAYA, PICNIC and a brand-new offering from the people behind SKAUS.
There will also be live music entertainment and DJs playing throughout the night. You are invited to spend time absorbing the atmosphere in this sumptuously designed gastronomic space, sampling the local and continental flavours in this new one-of-a-kind iteration.
Tickets are now available for the opening night so be sure to book yourself a ticket to the opening of Grand Central Food Bazaar on the 29th June – a gastronomic extravaganza and a culinary event not to be missed!
