Horace Andy w/ Mafia & Fluxy ft. Matic Horns – Review

Words and Pictures: John King

Friday 1st September 2017 @ District, Liverpool

Horace Andy played an outstanding 90 minute set of his greatest hits to a packed District, and the crowd were loving it!

There was never a dull moment all night as he performed crowd-pleaser after crowd-pleaser, and his voice still sounds amazing, which is particularly impressive when you consider he’s 66.

It’s been a while since I was at a gig where a good percentage of the audience were dancing – and it does help to raise the atmosphere a notch.

The night began and ended with the Positive Vibration DJs who were playing some fantastic tracks – so much so that I was using Shazam to find out what they were.

I’d had a bit of a bad week, nothing in particular, just stress at work etc, and I really needed something to give me a lift.  I came out walking on air, that’s what a great gig can do!

So to summarise: Great singer, Great Band, Great Songs, Enthusiastic dancing audience, Great atmosphere, Great Venue, Great DJs!

Here are some photos from the night… if you find any videos on Facebook or Youtube be sure to check them out!
